According to reports, Malaga are assessing whether to enter the transfer market to replace the injured Lovete, with Wilfried Zaha among the candidates.

Malaga Assess Zaha as Option to Replace Injured Lovete

After Lovete's injury, Malaga began studying different solutions, with several players being considered in recent days. Journalist Matteo Moretto revealed that Zaha is one of them. The 33-year-old Ivory Coast international is currently without a club after ending his spell with Galatasaray.

Zaha has extensive top-flight experience, with his best period coming during his time at Crystal Palace. He had two spells with Crystal Palace, making 458 appearances, scoring 90 goals and providing 54 assists. During his career, he has also played for Manchester United, Galatasaray and Lyon. In his most recent one-and-a-half seasons, he played for Major League Soccer side Charlotte FC, making 48 appearances, scoring 13 goals and providing 8 assists.

Zaha has also been a long-time Ivory Coast international. He was not included in the previous World Cup squad held in the United States, but he was named in the squad for the Africa Cup of Nations held in January this year. Now 33, Zaha is a free agent waiting for a new club.

At present, there have been no in-depth negotiations between Zaha and Malaga. His name has only appeared on the list of players recommended to the club after Lovete's serious injury, with Anthony Martial also included. However, Martial's financial demands make the deal particularly difficult.

Malaga also have limited time to make a decision. The process of replacing Lovete's registration spot depends on the date of his injury, especially on when La Liga issues a favorable medical report. From that moment, Malaga have 20 calendar days to apply to register a replacement, provided that the relevant requirements are met.
