Nico Paz: Como Is the Place Where I Can Grow the Most, and I Believe I Made the Right Decision

Nico Paz said Como is the best place for him to continue improving.

Real Madrid were determined to bring Nico Paz back to the team last summer and also communicated that intention to him. However, the Argentine player had different plans because he believed that, with players such as Bernardo Silva, Arda Guler and Bellingham currently in the squad, he would not receive enough playing time to continue developing. After weighing his options, the midfielder chose to stay at Como. Como agreed to pay 60 million euros to complete a permanent transfer. However, Real Madrid retained an 80 million euro buy-back option for next year because they did not want to lose control of the player.

After making his Champions League debut with the Serie A side, Nico Paz explained why he chose to stay at Como: “I feel this is the place where I can grow the most. I believe I made the right decision, and I am very happy that I did it.”
