AS: Real Madrid Retain €80 Million Buy-Back Clause for Nico Paz Next Year

Last summer, Real Madrid were determined to bring Nico Paz back to the team and informed him of that intention. However, the Argentine player had different plans because he believed that, with the current squad featuring players such as Bernardo Silva, Arda Guler and Bellingham, he would not receive the playing time needed to continue developing.

After weighing his options, Nico Paz decided to remain at Como. Previously, Como agreed to pay €60 million to complete his permanent transfer. However, Real Madrid retained an €80 million buy-back clause for next year because the club did not want to lose control of the player.

After making his Champions League debut with Como, Nico Paz revealed why he chose to stay. He said: “I feel this is the place where I have the most room to grow. I believe I made the right decision, and I am happy that I did it.”

Nico Paz also spoke about the match: “It was a historic night. We played a great game. We were really looking forward to playing this match. I think we handled the game in the best possible way. We are very happy with the performance we produced.”

Italian football legend Fabio Capello also spoke with Nico Paz after the match. Capello said: “I have very high expectations of you. When you do not produce an excellent performance, I am not satisfied. Your performance tonight was not perfect, and you can do more. You are my obsession.”
