Tottenham Hotspur Official: Hall of Fame Plan Relaunched, Fans to Vote on Inductees from Next Year

According to an official Tottenham announcement, the club will relaunch its Hall of Fame ahead of its 144th anniversary and plans to have fans decide the final inductees through voting from next year.

This is also part of a wider programme the club is advancing, aimed at reconnecting with the deep football traditions on which it was built and celebrating the achievements of former players and teams more extensively.

The Tottenham Hotspur Hall of Fame was first established in 2004. Over the following 12 years, 45 of the club's greatest former players and coaches were inducted, including the most honoured coach Bill Nicholson, all members of the 1961 Double-winning team, appearance record holder Steve Perryman, and many more legendary figures from different eras.

Following the closure of White Hart Lane in 2017 and the team's move to its new stadium, the programme was temporarily paused. Now, with the support of the Fan Advisory Board, the club has decided to update the format, present Tottenham's history more comprehensively, and include women's players among inductees for the first time.

The new structure will select inductees each year across four categories: men's players or coaches before 1990, men's players or coaches after 1990, women's players or coaches from any era, and special recognition for club figures who have made significant contributions to the club's history on and off the pitch.

As part of this year's relaunch, representatives from the club and the Fan Advisory Board have jointly agreed on a new group of inductees, who will be announced through the club's channels over the coming days.

The new inductees will walk onto the pitch before Tottenham's Premier League match at home against Aston Villa on Saturday, September 19 Beijing time, to meet supporters. The matchday programme will feature a commemorative cover and related content.

On Monday, September 21 Beijing time, the club will hold an official induction dinner at the stadium. The new Hall of Fame wall installation near the players' tunnel will also be unveiled for the first time. The installation is a modern interpretation of the original White Hart Lane design and will later become part of the stadium behind-the-scenes tour experience.

The club's official website will also launch a dedicated Hall of Fame section, providing fans around the world with a long-term digital space to learn about the figures who shaped Tottenham Hotspur's history.

In the coming years, Hall of Fame candidates will be selected according to a structured set of criteria, with participation from the club, the Fan Advisory Board and former player representatives. Fans will then decide the final inductees in each category through a public vote, ensuring greater supporter involvement in this important programme.
