Against Porto, Haaland scored twice. With these two goals, his total number of Champions League goals for Manchester City moved level with Aguero's, making them joint top scorers in Manchester City's Champions League history.

Mbappe also scored on the opening matchday. He scored a goal for Real Madrid and received the Champions League Golden Boot award for last season's top scorer before the match.
