Newcastle's 20-year-old new signing Bazoumana Toure has achieved a rare three-stage jump in transfer value, rising from African youth football to the Premier League. Toure developed at Ivory Coast's renowned ASEC Mimosas academy, which has continuously produced talented players for European clubs. He produced impressive numbers in the Bundesliga, but his consistency under truly intense physical competition still needs to be tested. The €50 million price tag is both recognition of his talent and a heavy burden.
