Italian Media: Gabbia's Old Injury Recurs, Doubtful Against Juventus; Tomori Returns to Milan Training Squad

Milan have encountered a defensive injury concern at the start of the new season, with Italian centre-back Matteo Gabbia's ankle injury recurring and casting doubt over his availability for Sunday's Serie A away clash against Juventus. Tuttosport has also confirmed the injury news.

The recurrence involves the same ankle issue that troubled him during the pre-season period. The injury had already forced him to miss the final friendly match of pre-season against Manchester United. In yesterday's training session, Gabbia could only carry out rehabilitation work alone in the gym and did not take part in team training, significantly reducing his chances of being included in the squad for the Juventus match.

Gabbia's injury setback also directly led to the return of Fikayo Tomori. Tomori had previously been left out of the team's squad plans and had only been training individually at the Milanello training centre for several weeks. He has now completed his return and took part in his first full-team training session after coming back, with a chance of being included in the squad for the away match against Juventus.
