In the first round of the UEFA Champions League league phase, Napoli lost 0-1 to Arsenal and suffered three consecutive defeats.
After beating Genoa 2-0 away in the opening round, Napoli lost 1-2 to Como, surrendered a 2-0 away lead against Inter Milan before suffering a 3-2 comeback defeat, and then lost 0-1 to Arsenal at home.
According to statistics, this is only the second time in the past 60 years that Napoli have lost three of their first four matches in a season. The previous occasion was the 2000-01 season, when they recorded one draw and three defeats.
Allegri took charge of Napoli in the summer and is now facing significant doubts.
