Trevisani: Ausilio and Marotta Are No Longer on the Same Wavelength, Baccin Faces a Difficult Task Taking Over

Riccardo Trevisani recently discussed Ausilio's departure from Inter Milan on the Radio Manà Manà Sport program, while also analyzing Marotta's previous remarks regarding Ausilio.

Speaking about Marotta's evaluation of Ausilio, Trevisani said: "Clearly, they are no longer on the same wavelength. I often go to San Siro to watch matches. During home games, there are plenty of seats, and you can see one of them sitting on this side and the other sitting on that side. Away from home, they actually sit closer together because Inter Milan only gives you seven seats."

"Inter Milan only offered Ausilio a one-year contract extension at the time, and he was not very satisfied with that. However, over the past six or seven years, I believe Ausilio has done a lot of excellent work. Almost all of the free transfers he handled were successful, the quality of signings was good, and he also helped the club increase the value of many players."

Trevisani also discussed the changes at Inter Milan after Marotta's arrival: "After Marotta arrived, Inter Milan had the ability to reach the top of Serie A. I remember the club's financial figures were around minus 730 million euros at the time, but later they achieved financial balance. The team's value in the league did not decline; instead, it became stronger."

In his view, Ausilio's overall work deserves recognition: "Ausilio did very well. Of course, I also questioned the signing of Luis Enrique, but overall, I think his performance was roughly 70 to 30."

Trevisani then discussed the challenges Baccin faces after replacing Ausilio.

"Baccin grew under Ausilio's guidance and was someone Ausilio developed and valued. I think Baccin is now following a similar path."

"Now we have to see whether Marotta can hold things together, because nobody has truly been able to do so in the past. It could even be said that after Ausilio left, almost nothing was left around him."

However, Trevisani does not believe Inter Milan will immediately fall into trouble because of this: "I don't think Inter Milan will encounter problems right away. The very difficult task Baccin must take on is to continue showing the same level of judgment and vision that Ausilio had."

"Players such as Acerbi, Onana, Dzeko, Mkhitaryan, as well as Akanji and Lautaro, were all operations that required strong judgment to complete. Of course, this also includes Luis Enrique."

For Inter Milan after Ausilio's departure, how to continue the recruitment philosophy developed over the past few years will also be an important issue the club needs to address going forward.
