Official: Mbuku Joins Sint-Truiden on Loan with Purchase Option

Mbuku will continue playing in Belgium. Sint-Truiden have officially announced that the 24-year-old DR Congo international left winger has joined on loan from Augsburg, with a purchase option included in the deal. The former Reims player, who had fallen out of favor at the German club, has just completed a full season at Montpellier, making 30 appearances in Ligue 2, scoring 4 goals and providing 5 assists. Mbuku now hopes to find more stability in Belgium.

Mbuku came through the Reims academy and left the club as a free agent in 2023 to join Augsburg.

Since arriving in Germany, he has been unable to establish himself, and was successively loaned to Saint-Etienne, Dinamo Zagreb and Montpellier. He has now begun a new chapter at Sint-Truiden.

The winger, who has previously been selected for the DR Congo national team and participated in the previous World Cup, hopes this fourth loan spell will help him regain playing time and convince the Belgian club to activate the purchase clause.
