Napoli director Giovanni Manna said McTominay will need 28 days after surgery to regain competitive fitness.

Former Manchester United midfielder McTominay made a dream start after moving to Serie A, but he is about to be sidelined temporarily. McTominay will undergo heart surgery, and both the player and Napoli have explained the situation and the expected recovery time.
McTominay said: “I am in good physical condition. This surgery is an arrangement that I and the club have planned for a long time.” Napoli’s statement said: “Due to the appearance of mild benign arrhythmia symptoms, McTominay will undergo pulsed field ablation (PFA) in the coming days to correct this issue.”
Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna confirmed that McTominay will need 28 days to regain competitive fitness. Manna said: “He needs 28 days to regain competitive fitness because he has to take anticoagulant medication. The player needs to rest for the first two weeks, and after that he can resume competitive activities without physical contact.”
