No longer holding dual role, Stoke City assistant Robins has resigned from Wales assistant coaching position

According to official news on September 8 Beijing time, Stoke City assistant coach Robins has resigned from his position as assistant coach of the Wales national team.

Officially announced, Stoke City assistant coach James Robins has resigned from his role as assistant coach of the Wales national team in order to focus on his work at Stoke City.

The 41-year-old coach had been balancing responsibilities with both the Wales national team and Stoke City since taking up the role in January 2025.

Robins said: "Representing my country has been a tremendous honour, and I will always be proud to have had that opportunity."

"Given that this is such a great honour, this is not a decision I have taken lightly. However, balancing responsibilities between Stoke City and Wales is a significant commitment that requires dedication throughout the year."

"Alongside Jon Walters, the head coach, the coaching staff and the players, I am working tirelessly to bring success to Stoke City. I firmly believe that, in order to do justice to the efforts of everyone here, I need to dedicate all of my energy to the club."
