In the early hours of September 8 Beijing time, in the sixth round of the Saudi Pro League, Al Hilal lost 0-2 to NEOM SC. In this match, 25-year-old Martinelli made his first start since joining the club. Before the game in the players' tunnel, he met his 35-year-old former Arsenal teammate Lacazette.
This summer, Martinelli joined Al Hilal for a high transfer fee of 70 million euros, ending his seven-year career with the Gunners. At Arsenal, Martinelli and Lacazette played together for three seasons from 2019 to 2022, making 52 appearances together.
Lacazette left Arsenal in 2022 and joined NEOM SC from Lyon in 2025.
