Italian Media: Serie A Total Wage Bill Exceeds €1.2 Billion, Inter Milan Top Ranking with €145.8 Million Slightly Above Juventus

According to estimates by Italian media outlet Calcio e Finanza, the total pre-tax wage bill of the 20 Serie A clubs in the 2026/27 season is approximately €1.209 billion, with Inter Milan's €145.8 million slightly higher than Juventus.

The report stated that Serie A clubs' total wage expenditure continues to increase. In the 2026/27 season, the pre-tax wages of players participating in Italy's top division exceeded €1.2 billion. The combined pre-tax wage bill of the 20 clubs is approximately €1.209 billion, excluding bonuses. This figure is higher than the estimated €1.1 billion in the 2025/26 season, although the comparison should be viewed cautiously because there are some differences in the statistical methods used.

Inter Milan lead the ranking, narrowly ahead of Juventus. Inter Milan's estimated pre-tax wage bill is €145.8 million, while Juventus' is €145.5 million, a difference of only €300,000. Napoli rank third with €109.8 million, and AC Milan rank fourth with €103.1 million. Roma are fifth with €92.7 million, remaining below the €100 million threshold. Sixth-placed Atalanta are estimated to have a pre-tax wage bill of €73.8 million.
