On September 7 Beijing time, Shanghai Shenhua officially announced that the club has terminated its contract with foreign player Mineiro effective immediately. Previously, Mineiro was suspended for three matches after a kicking incident.

After reaching an agreement through discussions with the player himself, Shanghai Shenhua Football Club has terminated the contract with player Shaolo Mineiro effective immediately.
Since joining Shenhua in January 2025, Mineiro has made 34 appearances for the team in all competitions and scored 14 goals. The club wishes him all the best in his future career. (End of announcement)
Previously, during the Chinese FA Cup match between Dalian Yingbo and Shanghai Shenhua, Mineiro kicked Mao Weijie in the leg. He was later suspended for three matches by the Chinese Football Association's league governing body and fined 15,000 yuan.
Shenhua will host Tampines Rovers on September 17 in their first match of this season's AFC Champions League Two campaign, and the team will be without one foreign player for the competition.
