Italian media: Private appeal filed against San Siro transfer documents, new stadium plan could face obstacles

The new stadium project in the San Siro area, which belongs to AC Milan and Inter Milan, has not been without difficulties. Today, La Verità reported that the situation could slow down the two Milan clubs' plans for a new stadium, and in the worst-case scenario could even cause these proposals to be completely abandoned. It is well known that through the San Siro stadium company, the Rossoneri and Nerazzurri bought San Siro and the surrounding land from the Milan municipal government in November 2025. The transfer document itself is now being challenged.

According to La Verità, a private citizen filed an appeal through lawyer Braccio, challenging the notarized transfer documents issued by the Milan municipal government to AC Milan and Inter Milan. The stadium sale documents were officially signed on November 5, five days before San Siro would have triggered an inalienability restriction, which, once effective, would have ruled out any possibility of selling or demolishing the stadium. The citizen therefore took the Milan municipal government to court, arguing that the municipality had voluntarily sold the stadium before it reached 70 years of age, thereby bypassing the restriction. The municipality's situation could be further complicated by another factor: in the days before the notarization was completed, someone had suggested delaying the signing as a precaution.
