Amorim: Our biggest problem in the first half was that we could not control possession for long periods

Without a doubt, there was some disappointment and regret. We conceded in the final few minutes of the match, and conceding at that moment is a very heavy blow for any team. It is also difficult to immediately accept and process mentally. However, as a team that is growing and being built, we cannot focus only on the final result. Instead, we need to pay more attention to our specific competitive performance on the pitch. We understand clearly that there are still many details in tactical coordination, match control and other areas that need further improvement, development and refinement.

But we must recognize that we were playing away from home today against a very strong and formidable opponent. Yes, that was indeed the case. We did try to respond and make targeted efforts. We tried to limit the opponent and build our own attacks, but I think our biggest and most fundamental problem in the first half was that we could not keep control of possession for long periods. Our possession level and stability in passing and receiving did not reach the expected standard in the first half.

Because we could not keep the ball securely whether under pressure or without pressure, almost all of our other tactical issues and disconnects in the first half were exposed one after another. Once we could not control possession, many difficulties appeared in both our defensive work and our organization.

Did this high-intensity direct confrontation today once again confirm a clear understanding for you during the match? That Sisse is indeed a very important and crucial piece of Milan's current tactical system, correct?

Yes, he is very important. But just like every other member of our team, his current performances and overall condition on the pitch have been excellent. Of course, as a player who is still developing, he needs more time to gain experience and continue improving in higher-level matches.
