Mundo Deportivo: Liverpool Satisfied with Araujo's Performances, €55 Million Purchase Option Not Impossible

According to Mundo Deportivo, Liverpool's senior management are very satisfied with Araujo's performances on loan and believe this was the right signing.

Araujo has only played three official matches for Liverpool, but he has already left a deep impression at Anfield. The Uruguayan defender joined the Reds on loan, and the club's management unanimously believe it was an appropriate move.

Liverpool must deal with the departures of several important players in this transfer window, including Salah, Konate, Curtis Jones and Robertson. Head coach Iraola has instead placed his faith in young players who are mostly already established in top leagues and able to make an immediate impact, with Barcola (23), Jeremy Jacquet (20), Victor Munoz (22) and Luca Bruemans (18) among the standout names. Meanwhile, 27-year-old Araujo is regarded as an indispensable figure.

In Liverpool's view, Araujo brings the composure and leadership of an experienced player. He has top-flight league experience and previously served as captain at Barcelona. In addition, he can cover the two positions Iraola most needs to strengthen — based on his experience at Barcelona, Araujo can play both centre-back and right-back.

Liverpool are aware that Araujo encountered difficulties at Barcelona, but believe that with consistent playing time, opportunities and trust, he can return to his best form. Based on his performances in these early-season matches, Liverpool internally believe they chose the right player. Araujo's displays have exceeded expectations, and both the coaching staff and management are very satisfied with the signing and hope it will ultimately be a success.

Liverpool also posted the Uruguayan's match statistics from Friday's game against Ipswich on social media. In his first start for Liverpool, Araujo won 9 of his 10 duels, the most in the match; he won all 6 of his aerial duels and was also joint first in the game with 7 clearances.

Araujo has clearly established himself at Liverpool, and the club's management are very satisfied with him. If he continues performing at this level, attempting to sign him permanently at the end of the season would not be unrealistic. The loan agreement includes a purchase option valid until June 30, 2027, with a fee of around €55 million.
