Fiorentina striker Pellegrino: We are strong but must prove it on the pitch

After the match, Fiorentina striker Mateo Pellegrino said that the team is strong but needs to prove itself on the pitch and cannot use its youth as an excuse.

After the match against Torino, Pellegrino attended a press conference at Fiorentina's Artemio Franchi Stadium.

Speaking about the mood in the dressing room, Pellegrino said: "There is some bitterness because we played well in the second half. If Atal had scored, we could have taken a 2-0 lead. We are young, but that cannot be an excuse. It means we have to mature faster."

Speaking about the fans, Pellegrino said: "I can only thank the fans because they created a very beautiful celebration atmosphere. We have to do more, and criticism of Fiorentina from outside is normal. This goal is dedicated to my family."

Regarding the issue of the team making fewer crosses, Pellegrino said: "We cannot cross just for the sake of crossing. Everyone has to work together to put teammates in the best conditions and bring out the qualities of me and Beto."
