In the third round of the Premier League, Manchester City defeated Coventry 1-0 away from home and continued to sit at the top of the standings. Haaland scored his third league goal of the season.
The only goal of the match helped Manchester City claim all three points. Tottenham drew 0-0 away against Nottingham Forest this round to earn their first point of the season. Newcastle, coached by new manager Matthias Jaissle, remained unbeaten after Jacob Ramsey's stoppage-time goal helped them draw 2-2 with Bournemouth.
Crystal Palace came from behind twice at Craven Cottage and eventually overturned Fulham 3-2 to earn their first point of the season. Brighton drew 1-1 with Leeds United, while Brentford and Sunderland also shared a 1-1 draw.
