Liverpool to Pursue Brighton Winger Minteh Again in January Window After Two Rejected Bids

Liverpool were interested in signing Brighton attacker Yankuba Minteh during the summer transfer window, but the deal was ultimately not completed. According to Football Insider, the Reds are expected to try again for the 22-year-old Gambian winger in the coming months, with the January window potentially becoming a new opportunity.

Reporter Pete O’Rourke said in an analysis: “If Liverpool plan to bring in a new right-sided attacker to fill the gap left by Mohamed Salah, they will assess multiple targets in January. I believe they will continue to monitor Minteh’s situation at Brighton. They have made several bids before, but all of them were rejected.”

O’Rourke added: “A lot depends on what Liverpool do between now and January. If Barcola settles in quickly after joining, or if they can find a solution on the right side—whether it is Cody Gakpo or Victor Muñoz—then they may not need to sign another right-sided attacker.”

Liverpool have already signed Bradley Barcola and Victor Muñoz during the summer. However, after Salah’s departure, the team need more attacking depth, especially on the right side. Minteh’s qualities are considered a strong fit for the Reds’ needs—he can create opportunities for teammates and bring pace and unpredictability in the final third.
