Official announcement

The France-born DR Congo player Nathanaël Mbuku has joined Sint-Truiden on loan from Augsburg, with a purchase option included in the contract. The agile attacking player will wear the yellow and blue shirt, with his jersey number set as No. 11.

The 24-year-old Nathanaël Mbuku showed his talent at a young age. He represented France's youth team at the FIFA U-17 World Cup and won the Silver Boot award (the second-best player of the tournament). During that tournament, he scored in the round of 16, quarter-finals and semi-finals, demonstrating his ability.

At the age of 17, Mbuku made his Ligue 1 first-team debut with Reims. During his youth period at Reims, he was also teammates with former Sint-Truiden player Thibault De Smet. After spending several seasons with Reims' first team, he moved to the Bundesliga and joined Augsburg. He was later loaned out several times: first to Saint-Etienne, then to Dinamo Zagreb, and last season he delivered impressive performances at Montpellier.

Speaking of his excellent form, Mbuku maintained outstanding competitive condition this summer. At the World Cup held in the United States, Mexico and Canada, the winger represented DR Congo and witnessed the national team's first-ever qualification for the World Cup finals. To date, the 24-year-old has made more than 20 international appearances for the Congo national team.
