Women's Asian Champions League Groups Announced, Beijing Women's Football Club to Face Melbourne City, Kaya, and Nasaf

On September 3 Beijing time, the group stage draw ceremony for the 2026-27 AFC Women's Champions League was completed at the AFC headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The 12 teams that qualified for the main tournament were allocated into three groups, and the matchups for the new Women's Asian Champions League season were officially revealed.

Group A

Namhyang Women's Football Club (DPR Korea, defending champions), INAC Kobe Leonessa Women's Football Club (Japan), Bam Khatoon Women's Football Club (Iran), Ayeyawady United Women's Football Club (Myanmar, hosts)

Group B

Hwacheon KSPO Women's Football Club (South Korea), Ho Chi Minh City Women's Football Club (Vietnam), East Bengal Women's Football Club (India, hosts), 4.25 Sports Club (DPR Korea)

Group C

Melbourne City Women's Football Club (Australia), Beijing Jingtan Women's Football Club (China), Kaya Women's Football Club (Philippines), Nasaf Women's Football Club (Uzbekistan, hosts)

As a second-pot team, Beijing Jingtan Women's Football Club will compete in the Women's Asian Champions League for the first time in club history. Among their group opponents, Melbourne City are the top-ranked team in the Australian Women's League and have strong overall ability; Kaya of the Philippines and Nasaf of Uzbekistan also possess considerable competitive strength. Beijing Women's Football Club will need to fight for every point to pursue a place in the quarterfinals.

A total of five teams will make their first appearances in the Women's Asian Champions League main stage this season: Hwacheon National Sports Promotion Park Women's Football Club, INAC Kobe Leonessa Women's Football Club, Beijing Jingtan Women's Football Club, 4.25 Sports Club, and Ayeyawady Women's Football Club. The draw followed the same-association avoidance principle, with the two DPR Korea teams, Namhyang Women's Football Club and 4.25 Sports Club, placed in different groups. Defending champions Namhyang Women's Football Club are in Group A and will face Japanese powerhouse INAC Kobe Leonessa, making the group highly competitive.
