Premier League Newcomer Watch: Mbaye, Ndiaye and Others Could Make Their Debuts This Weekend

The 2026-27 Premier League season has only been underway for a little over two weeks, but after a late wave of activity before the transfer window closed, a group of last-minute signings will make their first appearances for their new clubs this weekend.

Many players signed late in the summer window waited weeks or even months to complete their transfers. However, they may not have to wait long for their debuts — in many cases, these players were signed specifically to fill obvious gaps in their teams' squads, meaning there is no time to waste.

Here are the new signings to watch in Premier League matches over the coming days.

Aston Villa supporters spent much of the summer watching the club's 2025-26 Europa League-winning squad being broken apart. But this young rebuilding centerpiece should bring genuine excitement.

Mbaye is only 18 years old and previously played for Paris Saint-Germain, where his playing time was limited because of the wealth of talent in the attack. However, his career so far has shown fearlessness, creativity and technical ability — including scoring for Senegal against France at the World Cup, and scoring a decisive goal in PSG's 2-0 away win over title challenger Lens, helping the club win the Ligue 1 title in May.

At PSG, he was behind attacking players such as Desire Doue and served as a substitute option on the biggest stages; at a revamped Villa, he can become the main attraction.

Unlike Mbaye, who could move directly into Villa's starting lineup, his international teammate Ndiaye will need to compete for a place in new manager Enzo Maresca's squad after moving from Everton to Manchester City.

Last season, Ndiaye started 32 Premier League matches for Everton, with his only six absences coming because he was with Senegal at the Africa Cup of Nations. His importance was also reflected by the fact that he started both of the club's first two league matches this season.

In addition, Chelsea player Mudryk joined Tottenham on loan, while defender Adarabioyo completed the same move on a permanent transfer. The deal was almost unimaginable when the June transfer window opened — Mudryk played for Tottenham's fierce rivals Chelsea, and his arrival will add another option to Tottenham's attack.
