A report from La Gazzetta dello Sport says that 11 months later, Pulisic returns to the Allianz Stadium still carrying a sense of frustration. In the previous Juventus vs. AC Milan match, he missed a penalty that could have changed the scoreline. That night was a bad one for both teams and, looking back, became a symbol of a disappointing season. Afterwards, the American player went through several more months of struggles, with limited returns, criticism and injury problems.

2026 should be forgotten: no goals and injuries.

So far, this year has been extremely difficult for Pulisic: he has not scored for AC Milan in 2026, and he also failed to score at the highly anticipated home World Cup, leaving outside expectations unmet. More troublingly, he suffered an ankle injury, was unable to play throughout July, and therefore missed preseason preparations.

After returning to Milanello on August 2, he first trained individually before gradually rejoining team sessions. However, in the first two league matches against Torino and Venezia, although he was included in the squad, he remained on the bench in both games and did not receive even a minute of playing time.

Amorim is waiting for him: the moment against Juventus may arrive.

Amorim said he would carefully manage his training workload, but again emphasized that Pulisic's technical ability and final-pass quality are important for the team. Against Juventus, he may finally get his moment, possibly coming on as a substitute during the match because he is not yet fully ready to play 90 minutes, while Sissè is in good form after scoring against Torino in the opening round.

For Pulisic, this is also an opportunity to face the same goal again, forget that missed penalty, and leave behind a disappointing 2026 so far. Perhaps starting from the match against Torino, his season can truly restart.
