CBA Update: Beijing Extends Chen Yingjun on Three-Year Maximum Contract, Liaoning Forward Yu Zechen Joins Jilin, Huang Mingyi and Yang Tengfei Set for Loan Swap

With only a few days remaining in the CBA player registration window, many teams are finalizing their last moves to strengthen their domestic rosters. Three major CBA updates have emerged: Beijing has completed a contract extension with domestic guard Chen Yingjun on a three-year maximum contract; Liaoning forward Yu Zechen has transferred to Jilin, with the move officially announced; and Guangdong's Huang Mingyi and Jilin's Yang Tengfei are set to switch teams, reportedly through mutual loans.

During the offseason, Beijing has been working hard on Chen Yingjun's extension. The two sides previously had differences over salary and contract length, but Beijing showed strong determination to retain him. According to reports from Beijing, the two sides completed the signing recently on a three-year maximum contract. Chen Yingjun will continue playing for Beijing over the next three seasons.

Chen Yingjun is an outstanding domestic guard who has played for Beijing for two seasons. Although he is already 33 years old and considered an older player in the CBA, he has maintained excellent form, averaging 11.9 points, 2.7 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game last season. After extending Chen's contract, Beijing has largely retained its domestic core from last season. With the additions of foreign players Brown and Sampson, Beijing's foreign player group has been upgraded, increasing its chances of competing for the championship in the new season.

Liaoning's main focus this offseason has been upgrading its foreign player lineup, having already signed three imports: Chris, Edwards and Cooper. Among domestic players, Liaoning also signed promising guard Duan Ruiqi. Meanwhile, because forward Yu Zechen's development did not meet expectations and Jilin showed strong interest in him, the two teams reached an agreement on his transfer. Yu Zechen has officially joined Jilin, which has announced the move.

Yu Zechen has excellent physical attributes and previously participated in the CBA All-Star dunk contest. However, he also has noticeable issues, including a tendency to lose his temper. He has at times disagreed with coaching instructions during games, which resulted in both Yang Ming and Hugo not giving him much playing time. Jilin is a relatively average team in terms of strength, and Yu Zechen should have more opportunities to play there.

Guangdong's Huang Mingyi is currently training with Jilin, while Jilin's Yang Tengfei is training with Guangdong. Many fans speculated that the two teams might trade the players. According to a media report, Huang Mingyi and Yang Tengfei will switch teams, but it will not be a transfer; instead, they will be loaned to each other's teams. The two clubs have not yet reached an agreement on the loan duration.

Huang Mingyi has played three seasons for Guangdong but has not received consistent playing time, and his statistics have been limited. During this offseason, Guangdong offered him a contract extension, but Huang wanted to find opportunities with another team, eventually joining Jilin for a tryout. If things proceed as expected, Guangdong will first sign Huang Mingyi and then loan him to Jilin. As for Yang Tengfei, he has good physical attributes, and Guangdong's interior lineup lacks depth, making him a potential reinforcement who can at least serve as a rotation player.
