According to basketball reporter Song Xiang, Huang Rongqi will return to the Sichuan men's basketball team for the new season, with the two sides signing a one-year contract.

Huang Rongqi has moved between several teams in recent years, playing for Xinjiang, Guangdong, Nanjing and others. Last season, while with Nanjing Tongxi, he was limited by injuries and played only 15 games, averaging 4 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists per game. His shooting percentage was 32.4 percent and his three-point shooting percentage was 19.4 percent. Such performances made it difficult for him to secure a contract extension, and Nanjing Tongxi did not renew his deal.
