After four years away, Zhou Peng is set to officially return to his original team. Following friendly communication and mutual agreement, the two sides completed the signing of a one-year player contract. After the registration materials are submitted to the CBA company and approved and announced, he will once again put on the familiar No. 11 jersey of the South China Tigers and return to the place where his journey began to compete in the new CBA season.

In 2004, Zhou Peng joined the Guangdong youth development system and was promoted to the first team in the 2006-07 season. During his previous 16 seasons with Guangdong, he won eight CBA championships, was named the 2020-21 regular-season Defensive Player of the Year, and was selected to the second team of the All-CBA lineup.

On the court, he became a key member of the team with his tough defense, balanced offensive ability and fearless shooting. Off the court, he maintained strict discipline and professionalism, and as captain took responsibility for carrying on the team's culture and fighting spirit. At the national team level, he was a long-time member of the Chinese men's basketball team, previously served as captain, and competed in major international events including the Olympics, Asian Games and Asian Championships.

In 2022, Zhou Peng joined the Shenzhen men's basketball team, repeatedly stepping up in important games and contributing with his extensive experience. In 2025, as a member of Guangdong's team, he helped the squad win its third National Games gold medal.

After years apart, Zhou Peng returns for another challenge. The team welcomes his return and hopes that in his 21st professional season he can continue making an impact on the court, strengthen the team's wing position with his experience and ability, help younger players grow through veteran leadership, and move forward together into a new chapter.
