Sept. 11 — According to U.S. media outlet Sporting News, 76ers head coach Nick Nurse recently discussed Tyrese Maxey's growth direction for the new season and said the team still hopes he can continue to reach a higher level.
Nurse said Maxey has the speed to attack the basket and the ability to shoot from long range, and he can also score one-on-one from all three offensive areas. He hopes Maxey maintains his current style of play while continuing to improve his leadership ability and defensive performance.
In the 2025-26 season, Maxey averaged 28.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, 6.6 assists and 1.9 steals per game in the regular season, and was selected to an NBA All-League team for the first time. The 76ers' roster for the new season also includes Joel Embiid, Jaylen Brown and LeBron James.
