From Qingdao to Shandong, two different development paths

When they were in sixth grade, the two trained together at Qingdao Basketball School. They both studied under coach Chong Xi and were key players for the men's basketball team in the youth group of the 23rd Shandong Provincial Games. Wang Lanqin was also a member of the provincial games championship team, and they built a strong understanding at a young age.

However, the two later took different development paths. Chen Peidong chose the youth training route and joined Shandong's youth team. In 2017, several Shandong youth team players went to NBL Anhui Wenyi, and Chen Peidong went with them. Later, Ji Minshang, a senior executive of Shandong Men's Basketball Team at the time, personally went to bring him back. He accompanied Chen Peidong on a train journey and helped him return to the CBA through his hometown team.

Wang Lanqin followed the campus basketball route, rising from Qingdao No.1 High School before entering Tsinghua University to compete in CUBAL. He entered the league through the CBA Draft. This summer, Wang Lanqin officially returned to his hometown team, Shandong Hi-Speed Men's Basketball Team.

Years of understanding could help inspire Chen Peidong's form

The two Qingdao players, who are only one year apart in age, competed together when they were young and have now reunited at Shandong.
