In an interview with Jones, Guinzey said: "It took us two years to make some of these deals happen, and the reason was that we kept maintaining contact. We were always actively following up on this trade, and in the end we got the player we wanted. Although trades like this do not always go smoothly, we made sure not to give up any opportunity." He added that discussions with Boston regarding a trade for Jaylen lasted for several weeks, as they continued to express their interest and repeatedly knocked on the door.
