Is Michael Porter Jr. part of the Nets' future?

According to Nets beat reporter Erik Slater of ClutchPoints, he believes Porter's time with the Nets could come to an end soon.

Erik Slater said: “In my view, the Nets are very likely to move him at the trade deadline, and this is something I have continued to hear for some time. The Nets view him more as a trade asset rather than a long-term building block.”

Before last season's trade deadline, multiple teams including the Warriors and Pistons showed strong interest in acquiring Porter.

However, the Nets' asking price and the difficulty of matching his $38 million salary ultimately caused trade talks to stall.

Next season, the Nets will undoubtedly face a difficult decision.

Porter is about to enter the final year of his five-year, $172 million rookie extension; last season, he was one of only five players in the entire league to average 24 points and 7 rebounds per game.
