Official: Nanjing Tongxi Sign American Player Robert Franks

On September 8 Beijing time, Nanjing Tongxi Basketball Club officially announced that it has completed the signing of foreign player Robert Franks, who will represent the team in the 2026-27 CBA season.

The official announcement is as follows:

Robert Franks was born on December 18, 1996, in Seattle, USA. He graduated from Washington State University, stands 201cm tall, has a 221cm wingspan, weighs 109kg, and plays as a forward.

After going undrafted in the 2019 NBA Draft, Franks successively played for the development league affiliates of teams including the Charlotte Hornets, Sacramento Kings, and Orlando Magic. In the 2021-22 season, he played for the Brisbane Bullets in Australia's NBL, averaging 18.2 points and 8.9 rebounds per game and earning selection to the league's All-Star First Team. In the 2025-26 season, he moved to Japan's B.League and played 53 games for Ibaraki Robots, averaging 32.3 minutes, 17.1 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game, with a field goal percentage of 56.3% and a three-point percentage of 40.1%.

As a versatile wing player, Franks possesses reliable outside shooting ability and strong rebounding instincts. He can attack off the dribble while also providing a certain level of passing and playmaking ability. His arrival will effectively strengthen the team's wing offense and provide the team with more tactical options.
