The first moment Beverley mentioned was when his coach placed him in the starting lineup during the playoffs. He recalled that it was Game 2 of the series against the Thunder. “Making it to the NBA is everyone’s dream, but starting in the playoffs is a completely different kind of experience.” For a guard who built his reputation through defense, going from a reserve role to a playoff starter represented the coach’s trust and a direct recognition of his value.

First All-Defensive Team Selection: Recognition of His Career

The second moment was the first time he was selected to the NBA All-Defensive Team.
