Sept. 5 - Draymond Green discussed Clippers owner Steve Ballmer on his personal podcast: Even though Ballmer's net worth exceeds $150 billion, a $30 million fine is still a huge amount of money for him.
“I know everyone is saying: ‘Come on, $30 million means nothing to Steve Ballmer. He has a net worth of $180 billion.’”
“In theory, that sounds like it is correct, but the reality is not like that. Because $30 million, whether it is for you, me, or him, is the same $30 million, and it can buy exactly the same things.”
“The purchasing power of that money does not change. Whether I spend it, you spend it, or he spends it, $30 million is still $30 million. I do not have a billion dollars, let alone $180 billion or $200 billion, so I cannot personally understand that feeling.”
“But I can say that I would not want to take out $50,000. I would not want to lose that $50,000 for no reason. I think it is all relative. I strongly dislike when someone says: ‘For you, it is only $50,000. That is not really money.’
“No, it certainly is. So $30 million is definitely a substantial fine.”
